Progress Report

Has there been any progress?

No, not yet.

My spiral bound draft is sittng on my mother's coffee table, ready to be packed yet again for another trip. This time it's up to the mountains. Mom and I have discussed having *dates* with our projects. She will sew, and I will devote myself to my novel.

I'm considering changing my title. One Who Remembers has never been strong in my mind. After a long discussion about what makes George R. R. Martin great with my friend, I'm trying to focus on what makes my particular world unique. I think its reliance upon the trees. I'm tempted to use Victory Over the Trees or something like that, but I'm not sure if that reflects the story well. Maybe The Battle of Toc? I'm still thinking. Maybe my next reading will prove fruitful, and a phrase will jump out at me.

Here's hoping I actually have the capacity, post-work, to focus on my creative writing!
